FNCCI Election 2026: Jyotsna Shrestha’s Panel Files Candidacy for Associate Vice President

The electoral race for the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has intensified as Jyotsna Shrestha and her team officially registered their nominations for the Associate Vice President and executive member positions.

Backed by the influential alliance of current FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal and Senior Vice President candidate Hemraj Dhakal, Shrestha’s panel is positioning itself as a powerhouse of inclusive leadership for the Nepalese business community.
Strategic Filing on Hanuman Jayanti
On Thursday, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, Shrestha, along with 16 executive members, arrived at the FNCCI Central Office in Teku to formalize their candidacy.
The remaining three members of the 19-person team completed their registration today, rounding out a panel that Shrestha describes as “highly capable and representative of all industrial sectors.“

The group has presented a diverse list of 19 candidates aiming to lead the Associate wing of the federation. The nominees include:
Associate Vice President Candidate: Jyotsna Shrestha
Executive Member Nominees: * Avinas Bohora, Ambika Sharma Lamichhane, Batu Lamichhane, Balram Sapkota, Bharat Ranabhat.
Desh Bandhu Basnet (Ajit), Gopal Khanal, Jamuna Paudel, Jayas Shrestha, Ram Raja Shrestha.
Dr. Ram Sharan Thapaliya, Raj Kumar Timalsina, Shova Gyawali, Sandeep Agrawal (Makhariya).
Shailendra Guragain, Sunil Narayan Shrestha, Sachin Dhakal, Eng. Binod Dhakal and Chandra Dhakal (Kavre).

Following the nomination, Shrestha expressed strong confidence in her team’s prospects. “We have meticulously built a team that includes entrepreneurs from every corner of the country and every sector of the economy,” she stated. “Our group is empowered and ready to work toward the collective victory and the betterment of the Nepalese private sector.“
The FNCCI general assembly, scheduled for Chaitra 29 and 30, is a pivotal moment for Nepal’s private sector. While Anjan Shrestha is set to automatically become the President, the battle for the remaining leadership roles, including the Associate Vice President, remains the focal point of the 2026 elections.
