17th December 2025, Kathmandu
Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank Ltd. has stepped forward as a responsible corporate citizen by providing crucial support to the Nepal Bar Association (NBA), Ramshahpath.
Kamana Sewa Donates Computers
Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, the Bank officially handed over computers to the NBA to help restore and streamline office operations following significant damage sustained during recent protests.
This contribution underscores the Bank’s commitment to supporting key national institutions and aiding reconstruction efforts in the wake of public disruption.
The Critical Need for Intervention
The necessity of this assistance arose from the severe damage inflicted upon the Nepal Bar Association building and its premises during acts of vandalism and arson.
The incident occurred amidst widespread protests by a youth group (referred to locally as the Gen-Z movement) on September 8 and 9, 2025 (Bhadra 23 and 24, 2082 B.S.).
The destruction of vital equipment and infrastructure severely hindered the NBA’s ability to conduct its daily legal and administrative functions.
Recognizing the crucial role the NBA plays in upholding the rule of law, Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank prioritized the donation of essential computers to ensure the Association could resume its services without further delay.
Formal Handover and Expressions of Gratitude
The formal handover took place with Mr. Dandapani Bhattarai, Head of the Legal Department and Advocate at the Bank, presenting the computers to the President of the Nepal Bar Association, Senior Advocate Prof. Dr. Vijay Prasad Mishra.
NBA President Prof. Dr. Mishra expressed heartfelt gratitude, stating that the timely support from the Bank would be instrumental in improving the Association’s work performance during a challenging recovery period.
Bank Representative Mr. Bhattarai conveyed the Bank’s pleasure in collaborating with the Nepal Bar Association, emphasizing their shared goal of working together for the development of a prosperous society.
The ceremony saw the presence of other dignitaries, including the Bank’s Head of CSR Department, Sushil Paudel, and the NBA General Secretary, Senior Advocate Kedar Prasad Koirala, further cementing the partnership between the two organizations.
Conclusion: A Strong Link Between Finance and Law
This significant CSR activity by Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank serves as a powerful testament to the banking sector’s role in social reconstruction and stability.
By facilitating the NBA’s return to normalcy, the Bank has not only demonstrated its commitment to social good but has also strengthened the vital coordination between the financial and legal spheres in Nepal.
