Kamana Sewa Development Bank, in partnership with Nepal Youth Entrepreneurs Forum (NYEF) Chitwan, organized a Banking and Business Conclave to reduce the gap between entrepreneurs and banks. The event saw the active participation of over 60 young entrepreneurs from Chitwan.

The event was moderated by Rajesh Ghimire, Secretary of the Chitwan Press Club, and featured several distinguished speakers. Kamana Sewa Development Bank’s Deputy CEO, Vinay Dahal, FCA Biman Karki, and former President of NYEF Chitwan, Surya Bhattarai, shared their insights. Karki emphasized the importance of businesses adhering to financial regulations and maintaining transparency. He explained that failing to comply with set guidelines could place businesses under financial strain.
Entrepreneurs Voice Concerns Over Post-COVID Challenges
Surya Bhattarai shared the struggles businesses continue to face due to COVID-19’s lingering effects. He pointed out that regulatory policies had further complicated the situation, leading some entrepreneurs to consider leaving the industry. Bhattarai urged banks to offer more protection to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to help them recover.
Regulatory Measures for Long-Term Success
Vinay Dahal of Kamana Sewa Development Bank acknowledged that while recent financial regulations may be challenging, they are essential for long-term stability. He assured the audience that these measures would ultimately benefit businesses by encouraging financial discipline.
Impact of COVID-19 and Other Obstacles on Businesses
Vasantraj Parajuli, President of the Chitwan Press Federation, stressed the severe impact COVID-19 had on the hotel industry, urging banks to offer special support to this sector. Rajendra Wali, Vice President of the Chitwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, discussed the obstacles facing businesses, including slow infrastructure development, post-pandemic credit issues, and youth migration. He called on Nepal Rastra Bank and financial institutions to pay more attention to these challenges.
Young Entrepreneurs Seek Guidance
During the event, young entrepreneurs like Arjun Rana Bhatt, Niranjan Neupane, and journalist Deependra Adhikari raised questions about the future of their businesses. The speakers offered valuable insights and guidance, addressing the concerns of the next generation of entrepreneurs.
Collaboration for Mutual Growth
The conclave concluded with a commitment to further cooperation between banks and businesses. Vinay Dahal emphasized that a strong relationship between the two would help ensure the success of both sectors. The event was chaired by Nishan Paudel, First Vice President of NYEF Chitwan, with Santosh Kandel, Second Vice President, welcoming the participants.
