A 23-year-old youth from Bardiya, Nepal, Karnabahadur Budha Chhetri, has recently made headlines by selling his self-developed Android app to an international company, Rounds AI Limited, for approximately NPR 5 million (USD 40,000). In just a year, Chhetri has successfully sold three of his apps, amassing a remarkable income of over NPR 12 million, all while staying in Nepal.

Chhetri, currently a computer engineering student, has been developing these apps part-time without major financial backing. His recent achievements reflect Nepalese talent’s potential in the global tech industry, inspiring countless young innovators to realize their ambitions within Nepal.

Having previously sold two apps internationally, generating NPR 7 million, Chhetri’s third app sale has solidified his position as a rising figure in Nepal’s tech landscape. After fulfilling tax obligations, his net earnings surpassed one crore, proving that young Nepalese talent can significantly contribute to the tech industry without relocating abroad.

Key Highlights:

High Returns with Minimal Investment: Chhetri’s success story exemplifies profitable app development with minimal initial investment.
Role Model for Youth: His achievements highlight opportunities for Nepalese youth to succeed in international markets while residing in Nepal.

Global Opportunities on the Rise: This success story demonstrates Nepalese developers’ ability to attract global attention and establish Nepal on the technological map.

Karnabahadur Chhetri’s success is not only an inspirational tale for Nepal’s youth but also signals immense potential in the country’s growing tech industry. With the right support, Nepal can become a prominent player in global technological innovation, driving international competitiveness.

I recently sold another Android app to the same Israeli company, Rounds AI Ltd, for USD 40,000 (around NPR 50 lakhs). With this sale, my earnings from selling three apps within a year have reached NPR 1.2 crore (NPR 50 lakh + NPR 70 lakh from previous sales). I developed these apps without any investment, working part-time while studying computer engineering. After deducting 5% in government taxes, around NPR 6 lakh, I’m proud to show that success is achievable from within our own country—there’s no need to go abroad,” said Karna Kshetri.
