With Nagarik App, users can perform various tasks, including applying for citizenship certificates, passports, and driving licenses, paying taxes and utility bills, and checking exam results.

The app also provides access to various government forms and documents, including birth and death certificates, land registration certificates, and migration certificates.

Additionally, Nagarik App uses the government’s national identity card system, called the “Nagarikta” system, to verify users’ identities and grant them access to the app’s features. Furthermore, This app is available for download on both Android and iOS platforms.

Why do the traffic cops not recognize the Nagarik license?

The government launched the Nagarik app on January 2, proclaiming, “Not online, online.” This app’s user base grows by the day.

Many individuals choose it since it includes multiple government online services in one app. Some users are downloading this software solely to test it.

However, as more people use this app, complaints about it have increased. This is especially true when the traffic ticket is slashed and customers fail to identify the license on the app. Furthermore, The traffic cop requests the license in real form, claiming that the license in Nagarik could be forged.

‘The regulations of the traffic system stipulate that we would take action by showing the license in physical form,’ says Rajendra Prasad Bhatt, Spokesperson of the Valley Traffic Police Office. How to trust Citizen A’s license is now Sakkali. As a result, we must produce the license in its physical form.’

Additionally, The appropriate agencies have been asked to treat it as official, according to Netra Subedi, Joint Secretary and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology. ‘It is utterly irresponsible to claim that it is not occurring now,’ he argues, as the traffic police office arranges a press conference and exhibits the license via the citizen app. We’re working with the traffic cops on this.’

According to him, the government has developed the Nagarik app for the comfort of citizens. Similarly, Traffic cops and other subordinates should have confidence that the documents on it are accurate.

‘We are willing to revisit this topic with the Department of Transport Management, the Transport Office, and the Traffic Office,’ he said.

Additionally, The Nagarik app has been downloaded around 2 million times, with approximately 1.6 million on Android and 3.5 million on iOS, according to Rajesh Pokhrel, head of the National Information Technology Center.

‘The number of people utilizing the civic app is increasing day by day,’ he said. We shall have immediate access to the Election Commission’s vote card.’ According to him, in any future elections, ordinary citizens would be able to vote using the Citizen App and view their voter card, citizenship, and passport.
