Khalti has partnered with Kathmandu Metropolitan City to digitize its revenue collection, wherein now Khalti Users can pay different taxes without having to visit the Metro/Ward offices. Taxpayers can quickly spend the taxes of Kathmandu Metropolitan City for Rental Tax, Property Tax, and Business Tax through Khalti Digital Wallet.
Previously, this service was available through the taxpayer website of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, and now Khalti has provided the courtesy on the app itself, making payment more accessible and more seamless.
Speaking further about the service, Binay Khadka, The Chief Executive Officer of Khalti, said, “Our goal is to facilitate day to day payment hassle of the public in line with the same strategy we have aggressively started partnership with various local governments and authorities. This strategic partnership shall definitely enable millions of households to enjoy seamless and hassle free tax payment and Kathmandu Metro city for transparent and efficient revenue collection.”
Taxpayers will be able to pay by choosing ‘Khalti’ according to the method given below:
- Go to Local Government in Khalti’s home screen
- Select “Kathmandu Metropolitan City” and enter Tax Payer ID
- Select “Tax Payment Type”
- Rental Tax
- Property Tax
- Business Tax
- Verify the details & proceed with the payment
- Select the payment option as “Khalti wallet” or “Linked Bank Account.”
- The taxpayer will receive a Tax invoice in the Transaction History of the Khalti app
