Khalti Integrates with NEPALPAY QR for a Seamless Transaction

Khalti has recently enabled the NEPALPAY QR service, implemented by Nepal Clearing House Ltd (NCHL), allowing Khalti users to scan QR for payment and for NepalPay merchants to accept payments from Khalti.

The recently launched NEPALPAY QR service in Khalti can be an accessible medium for many users. With this collaboration, users can quickly scan the more than 300K NEPALPAY QRs in various restaurants, shops, malls, movies, and many more using the Khalti app.

Regarding the collaboration, Binay Khadka, Chief Executive Officer of Khalti shared:

“Khalti’s QR payment has been one of the most convenient services to our users. Hence, with this partnership, we aim to enable existing and upcoming Khalti users to enjoy seamless payments with NEPALPAY QR on top of existing Fonepay and Union Pay QR.”

Similarly, speaking about the collaboration, NEPALPAY QR shared,

“NEPALPAY QR is an implementing infrastructure of NepalQR for establishing a domestic QR scheme and interoperability within the players, which is available and accessible to all BFIs, PSPs, and PSOs in Nepal.

Collaboration with one of the prominent PSPs and activation of NEPALPAY QR in Khalti is a major milestone that is expected to accelerate the growth of QR payments in Nepal.”

Meanwhile, Nepal Clearing House Ltd (NCHL) has also signed an agreement with Nepal Payments Corporation of India, in the presence of the Honorable Prime Minister of Nepal, allowing cross-border payments.

The services are to be provided soon, where Khalti users will be able to make payments from parts of India.

Khalti, an ISO 27001:2013 certified company (Information Security Management System) has recently completed its 6 years in operation.

Last year, it was recognized with the prestigious WITSA Global Innovation & Tech Excellence Awards 2022 in Malaysia.
