KMC Scholarship Results 2082/83 Published: Class 11 & 12 Institutional School Scores Out Now

Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has officially published the results of the scholarship entrance examination held for Class 11 and 12 students seeking scholarships in institutional schools for the academic year 2082/83.

The entrance exam was conducted on Saturday morning from 8 AM to 10 AM across 54 exam centers. This year, KMC aims to provide over 4,000 scholarship seats in 160 institutional schools.
Massive Student Participation
According to KMC’s Education Department, a total of 17,229 applications were received from all 77 districts of Nepal. Out of them, 16,137 students were shortlisted, and 14,173 students appeared for the entrance exam.
From the examinees, 10,867 students passed the exam. Students had to score at least 40 percent to qualify. Those scoring below 40 were not eligible for the scholarship seats.
Exam Format and Fair Evaluation
The exam was based on the Class 10 curriculum. It consisted of 100 multiple-choice questions, including 30 each from Mathematics, Science, and English, and 10 questions on General Knowledge.
The answer sheets were checked using the Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) system. This automated process ensured accuracy and transparency in result verification.
KMC Education Department’s acting head, Keshav Gyawali, confirmed that the OMR technology scanned and evaluated the answer sheets to eliminate human error.
How To Check Results?
Students can now view their results on the official KMC website. To access their scorecards, they need to enter their SEE symbol number, date of birth, and the password received via email or SMS. Results can also be downloaded or printed directly from the website.
Scholarship Quota Details
The available scholarship seats prioritize underrepresented and disadvantaged students. Key allocation breakdown:
40% for students from community schools
5% for those already studying in institutional schools under scholarships
14% for permanent residents of KMC
1% for students from landfill-affected areas
Additionally, KMC has reserved quotas for:
Female students
Dalits and Janajatis
Madhesi and Tharu communities
Muslims and students with disabilities
Students from backward regions
Families of martyrs and the missing persons
