Kathmandu University (KU), renowned for its dedication to research and innovation, recently organized an interactive session between its Vice-Chancellor and PhD scholars.

KU Strengthens Research Excellence

The event, hosted by the Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) Division, celebrated KU’s robust ecosystem for doctoral studies, further solidifying its reputation as a hub for academic excellence.

Since its establishment, KU has awarded Ph. D.s to 203 scholars, and 280 students are currently pursuing their doctorates across six schools: Arts (20), Education (77), Engineering (61), Management (17), Medical Science (24), and Science (81).

Key Initiatives Supporting PhD Scholars

KU’s initiatives to support its doctoral candidates include:

State-of-the-art facilities and Global Collaboration

KU provides advanced research facilities through the Nepal Technology Innovation Centre (NTIC), fostering a conducive environment for academic excellence. PhD students also benefit from Joint/Dual/Exchange PhD Programs with international universities like IIT Hyderabad, NTNU, USN, and Wuhan University, enabling global exposure and interdisciplinary learning.

From Research to Market with KUBIC

The Kathmandu University Business Incubation Centre (KUBIC) empowers scholars to transform their research into market-ready innovations. With seed funding, entrepreneurial training, and exposure to market dynamics, KUBIC supports impactful solutions derived from doctoral research.

KU’s commitment to fostering research and innovation continues to attract aspiring PhD scholars, making it a beacon of academic excellence in Nepal and beyond.
