Kumari Bank National ID Update Notice: Submit Your NID Before Deadline
4th July 2025, Kathmandu
Kumari Bank has released an important notice calling on all its customers to update their National Identification Document (NID) details. This move comes in line with the mandatory compliance guidelines issued by the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), which requires financial institutions to maintain updated customer identification records to meet KYC (Know Your Customer) standards.

The bank has made it clear that non-compliance with this NID update requirement may result in restrictions or temporary freezing of bank accounts. To avoid service disruption, Kumari Bank strongly encourages all affected customers to act promptly.
As per the official notice, all customers who opened their accounts on or after Bhadra 1, 2081, must update or submit their National ID number by the end of Ashadh 2082. To make the process easier, Kumari Bank has provided two convenient options: customers may either visit the nearest Kumari Bank branch office or log in to the Kumari Bank Mobile Banking App, where a dedicated NID Update section has been integrated for hassle-free online submission.
In addition to this, the bank has also drawn attention to the case of high-profile or high-risk customers, who were previously required to update their NID by Magh 1, 2071. Despite several notices and reminders, many such account holders have still not submitted their NID information. Kumari Bank has now set a final deadline of one month from the date of this latest notice for these customers to comply. If they fail to do so, their accounts will be subject to restrictions, as per the bank’s internal compliance procedures.
Furthermore, Kumari Bank has outlined additional requirements for customers who opened their accounts via electronic channels while residing outside Nepal. These account holders must submit their National ID details within 35 days of returning to Nepal. This provision ensures alignment with digital KYC regulations and supports the bank’s mission to maintain accurate and verified customer data across all channels.
Kumari Bank has apologized in advance for any inconvenience caused by this mandatory compliance update. However, it has emphasized the importance of NID submission in maintaining uninterrupted access to financial services. The bank reiterates that all customers must take this update seriously to ensure full functionality of their banking services, including deposits, withdrawals, fund transfers, and access to digital banking features.
With growing emphasis on secure and compliant banking, Kumari Bank remains committed to transparency, regulatory adherence, and improved customer experience. Customers are advised to take immediate action and complete their NID verification process before the respective deadlines.
