Karry Electric Vans Launched in Nepal by LXG Motors – Price, Features, and Variants

LXG Motors Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of the renowned Laxmi Group, has officially introduced the Chinese commercial electric vehicle brand ‘Karry’ to the Nepali market.

The launch, held at the NAIMA Mobility Expo at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu, marks a significant step towards sustainable transportation in the country. The company unveiled two electric van variants, the KVan 1 and KVan 2, which are designed to cater to the needs of both commercial and educational institutions.

The KVan 1 and KVan 2 are priced at Rs. 5,856,000 and Rs. 6,306,000, respectively. These vans have been specifically designed for the Nepali landscape, featuring a high ground clearance of 180mm to navigate the country’s diverse road conditions with ease.

To serve different market segments, LXG Motors is offering two distinct variants. The modern, grey-colored version is aimed at commercial use, while a safety-focused yellow school variant has been introduced for educational institutions. The school version comes equipped with top-tier safety standards and special features designed to ensure the protection of children.

Key Features and Technical Specifications:

Both van models are powered by a 53 kWh LFP CATL battery, providing an impressive range of over 300 kilometers on a single charge. The vans are equipped with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM), which delivers a rated/peak torque of 130/270 Nm and a rated/peak power of 50/80 kW. The vans are available in 15-seat and 16-seat capacities.

Designed to suit Nepali road conditions, these Karry electric vans offer a maximum ground clearance of 180 mm. For safety, they come with front disc brakes and rear drum brakes, along with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), and a fire extinguisher, among other safety features.

In terms of safety, the vehicles feature front disc and rear drum brakes, supplemented by ABS and EBD. A fire extinguisher is also included as a standard safety measure.

Speaking at the launch, Sanjay Khadka, Head of Sales and After-Sales Support at LXG Motors, highlighted the company’s vision for a greener Nepal.
