Renaissance Library and Kamalamai Municipality Collaborate for Cybersecurity Awareness Program in Sindhuli (Let’s Build Secure Sindhuli)

Renaissance Library, in collaboration with Kamalamai Municipality-09, organized a cybersecurity awareness program at Sahid Rishiraj Devkota ‘Ajad’ Smriti Bhawan, Bhiman, Sindhuli.

The event, titled “Digital Resilience: Building Safe and Smart Online Presence,” aimed to educate, empower, and raise awareness among the local community.

The Renaissance Library, established in Bhiman, Sindhuli, is dedicated to improving reading habits and enhancing intellectual abilities within the local communities. Founded by the community, for the community, and of the community, the library serves as a focal point for book enthusiasts while also organizing awareness programs on various topics. Shanti Prasad Chaulagai: Library member and youth entrepreneur, served as the head of the cybersecurity awareness program.

Shivaji Chaulagain: President of the Renaissance Library, initiated the program. Gobinda Gautam: Youth entrepreneur and social worker, hosted the event. Anish Thapa and Bibek Shrestha: Contributed to the organization of the program. Manju Devkota: Chief Guest and Upamayor of Kamalamai Municipality, Sindhuli.

A representative from Area Police Bhiman: Subinspector. Ward Head of Kamalamai Municipality-09: Honored Guest, Binod Pradhan: Youth motivator. Students from classes 10, 11, and 12 of schools in the Bhiman area, including Kamala Academic School, Scholar’s Academy, Jana Jagrit Higher Secondary School, and Pragatishil Secondary School, Dandatol, Sindhuli.

The audience also included teachers, leaders, social workers, entrepreneurs, and other community members.

Over 150 students attended the program. Cybersecurity expert and CAN Federation General Secretary, Chiranjibi Adhikari, discussed cybercrime cases in Nepal and strategies to minimize incidents. Main Theme: “Let’s Build Secure Sindhuli.”

The objective of the program is to Reduce the risk of security breaches and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for data protection and privacy.

Manju Devkota, Upamayor of Kamalamai Municipality, expressed appreciation for the program, emphasizing its potential benefits in minimizing cybercrime among the youth. She commended the efforts of the President, Vice President, and all team members for organizing this milestone program for the first time in the Sindhuli district.

The Renaissance Library plans to extend similar activities throughout the Sindhuli district, continuing to empower and raise awareness within the community.

The success of this cybersecurity awareness program marks a significant step towards creating a safer online environment in the region.
