Software Freedom Day (SFD) is an annual worldwide celebration of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). SFD is a public education effort with the aim of increasing awareness of Free Software and its virtues and encouraging its use.
SFD was first observed on 28th August 2004 and since the year 2006, it is celebrated on the third Saturday of September.

Nepal Open Source Club (NOSK) is a committee of students who believe in open software. The club was established by FOSS enthusiasts from NCIT on 28th Feb 2008. NOSK members encourage the use of free and open-source software and also teach freshers the idea behind the software.
NOSK is organizing a programming competition sponsored by Leapfrog Academy at the SFD celebrations. So, here is a great opportunity to prove your worth with programming and win an amazing scholarship at Leapfrog Academy.
Rules for the programming competition:
1) This is an individual competition and will run for two hours.
2) You can use Google, Stack Overflow, and a few books if you want.
3) You are required to solve programming questions using your problem-solving ability.
4) You can use languages like C, C#, C++, Java, PHP, JavaScript, Python to solve the problems.
5) Any kinds of cheating in the contest will not be tolerated.
