The highly anticipated LEV X, an all-wheel-drive electric SUV from Chinese automobile manufacturer LS Auto, has finally arrived in Kathmandu and is poised to be a major attraction at the ongoing NADA Auto Show 2025.

Imported by Nexon Ventures, the official distributor for LS Auto in Nepal, the vehicle’s arrival marks a significant moment for the country’s burgeoning electric vehicle market.
The LEV X’s journey to the exhibition was not without a hitch. The vehicle was initially scheduled to be showcased on the very first day of the NADA Auto Show, which kicked off on Tuesday.
However, a landslide near Ekku, close to the Tatopani Customs Office in Sindhupalchok, caused a temporary but significant delay.
The highway, a crucial trade route for imports from China, was obstructed, forcing a postponement of the display plan. With the Tatopani highway reopening on Thursday afternoon, Nexon Ventures swiftly moved to transport the vehicle to Kathmandu.
Bikas Sah, the Managing Director of Nexon Ventures, confirmed the successful completion of the customs process. “As soon as the Tatopani road reopened, we transported the LEV X to Kathmandu.
With the customs process completed today, it will be showcased at NADA from tomorrow,” he told reporters. This timely arrival ensures that automotive enthusiasts and potential buyers will have the opportunity to see the SUV up close before the NADA Auto Show concludes on Sunday.
While the LEV X makes its grand debut, its stablemate, the LEVC 5, will not be joining the exhibition this year. The premium electric hatchback, which is positioned as a direct competitor to models like the BYD Dolphin and the Nami-01 in the Nepali market, is still in China and has not yet entered Nepal.
A Closer Look at the LEVC X: Power, Performance, and Ground Clearance
The LEV X is more than just a new face on the market; it’s a robust upgrade from its predecessor, the LEV 01, which has been available in Nepal for some time.
What truly sets the LEV X apart is its class-leading ground clearance of 210mm. This feature is particularly significant for the Nepali market, where varying and often challenging road conditions make high ground clearance a highly sought-after attribute for any vehicle.
While sharing a similar exterior design with the LEV 01, the company claims the LEV X features a host of upgraded interior components and a more powerful performance package.
Under the hood, the SUV is equipped with a dual-motor setup, with one motor on each axle, providing a combined power output of 198 kW.
This all-wheel-drive capability, coupled with its impressive ground clearance, makes the LEV X a strong contender for those who require a vehicle capable of handling both city driving and off-road excursions.
Powering this dual-motor system is a larger 77 kWh battery, a notable improvement over the 67 kWh battery found in the LEV 01. This larger battery promises an extended range, addressing one of the key concerns for electric vehicle owners in Nepal.
Inside the cabin, the LEV X boasts updated features, including redesigned AC vents and an improved layout, which aim to enhance the overall driving and passenger experience.
The arrival of the LEV X at the NADA Auto Show is a testament to the rapid expansion and diversification of the electric vehicle landscape in Nepal. As consumers become more eco-conscious and the government continues to promote EV adoption through tax policies, new models like the LEV X are critical for providing a wider range of choices.
Nexon Ventures’ commitment to bringing in advanced electric vehicles like the LEV X demonstrates the growing confidence in Nepal’s EV market and its potential for future growth.
The display of this powerful SUV at one of the country’s biggest automotive events is sure to be a highlight, drawing in crowds eager to see the future of mobility in Nepal.
