They are investing Rs 6 billion to build the resort on 100 ropanis of land in Ghyampedanda. This area lies near the famous Pilot Baba Ashram. The groundbreaking ceremony was held recently.
Three-Year Completion Target
The resort, named Swanning Resort, will be completed within three years. It will focus on high-end domestic and international tourists.
Ghale said the country needs hope during tough times. According to him, the resort is not just a business, but a way to bring optimism through development.
“We felt we had to act. This project is our step forward,” he said.
Joint Investment and Vision
The resort is a joint venture between Ghale’s MIT Group and Shakya’s Implemented Expert Group (IEG). Both sides hold equal shares.
Shakya bought the land 20 years ago, planning for a future project. Now, he sees it coming to life. The team is also in talks with international hotel chains for management support.
Targeting Wellness and Long Stays
Swanning Resort will offer 60 villas. The resort will welcome tourists who want to stay at least five to seven days.
It will focus on wellness, yoga, hiking, cycling, and seminars. The goal is to promote meaningful tourism in a peaceful setting.
Ghale said the project is designed for travelers who seek quality time, peace, and lifestyle experiences.
Positive Government Response
Minister for Forests and Environment Birendra Bahadur Shahi supported the project. He said recent legal changes have made foreign investment easier.
He appreciated well-known figures like Ghale and Shakya stepping forward. Former Industry Minister Mahesh Basnet also welcomed the investment. He said large projects like this help boost confidence in Nepal’s tourism sector.
Experienced Team Behind the Project
The leadership includes Shesh Ghale as Chairman and Amritratna Shakya as Director. Jamuna Ghale Gurung, Ghale’s wife, and Suwarnakrishna Shrestha, an IEG partner, are also involved.
The team brings both global experience and local commitment.
Meanwhile, Ghale is also developing a five-star hotel in Kathmandu’s Keshar Mahal. That project is also moving forward and is expected to open in a few years.
Hope Through Development
This resort is more than just a hotel. It is a symbol of hope, investment, and growth in Nepal’s hospitality industry.
With luxury tourism on the rise, Ghale and Shakya aim to put Bhaktapur on the international map.
Their message is clear: it’s time to invest in Nepal, even when the times are hard.
