Mabilung Energy Limited is set to open its much-anticipated Initial Public Offering (IPO) for the general public starting Today, Shrawan 26.
This move follows the successful allotment of shares to residents of project-affected areas and Nepalis working abroad, paving the way for a broader investment opportunity in the country’s burgeoning hydropower sector.
Mabilung Energy IPO
The company, which secured approval to issue 1,890,530 shares worth a total of NPR 189.053 million, is now making the remaining shares available to the general public. This issuance represents a significant 48.9998% of its total issued capital of NPR 385.824 million.
In the first phase of the IPO, 385,824 ordinary shares were allotted to residents of the project-affected area, while an additional 150,471 shares were allocated to Nepalis working abroad.
Details of the Second Phase Issuance
The second phase will see the company issue 1,354,235 shares, valued at NPR 135.4235 million. Of this amount, 30,095 shares have been reserved for Mabilung Energy’s employees, and 75,236 shares are set aside for mutual funds. The remaining 1,248,904 shares will be available for application by the general public.
How to Apply
Investors can apply for a minimum of 10 shares and a maximum of 50,000 shares. The IPO is scheduled to remain open until Bhadra 9, but in a likely scenario of oversubscription, it may close as early as Shrawan 29.
Laxmi Sunrise Capital Limited is serving as the issue manager for this IPO. Aspiring investors can submit their applications conveniently through the C-ASBA system, which is available at approved banks, financial institutions, and their designated branches.

For potential investors, it’s important to note the credit rating assigned by ICRA Nepal. Mabilung Energy has been given an “ICRA NP Issuer Rating Single B+,” which indicates an average capacity to meet its financial obligations and an average credit risk.
