What is the purpose of a MacBook Pro?

Your MacBook Pro comes with apps for almost everything you want to do. Edit and share your photos and videos, create presentations, and enjoy music, books, movies, and more. Discover new apps in the App Store, including iPhone. And iPad apps that now run on your Mac with Apple silicon.

Mail: You can unsubscribe from an email you just sent, and schedule emails to be sent whenever you want. And receive reminders to follow up or return to an email later. When you search in Mail, you will now see suggestions for recently shared content, such as documents and links. Search also returns more accurate results because it detects typos and searches for synonyms for your search terms.

Stage Manager: Organize your apps and windows automatically to keep your desktop clutter-free. What you want to concentrate on is in the foreground, with your other windows arranged on the side and accessible with a single click.

Spotlight: Spotlight allows you to perform Quick Actions such as setting a timer. Spotlight’s enhanced image search lets you search for images in Photos, Messages, and other places, or use Live Text to search for real text in images.

Safari: Safari is the world’s fastest browser, with a focus on privacy protection. Safari now supports passkeys, an even more secure way to sign in that protects you from phishing and data leaks.

Focus: More options for customizing a Focus to fit what you’re doing right now, such as allowing notifications from specific people or apps, for phone calls or upcoming events, and so on. Use Focus filters to hide distracting content in apps like Calendar, Messages, Safari, and Mail, and share your Focus across devices.

In your favorite apps, you can share experiences and collaborate more easily:

Messages: Messages can now be used to invite people to collaborate on projects in other apps like Keynote, Numbers, Pages, Notes, and others. Other new features in Messages include the ability to unsend a recently sent message for up to 2 minutes after sending it. As well as edit a recently sent message up to five times within 15 minutes of sending it.

iCloud Shared Photo Library: Create a library of photos and videos that you can share with up to five other people. Everyone else sees everyone else’s edits, comments, and new content, and you can use smart suggestions to automatically add specific photos or videos from your personal library, such as those featuring specific people or from a specific date.

Activity Stream: You can use Activity Stream to keep track of every change made while working on a Numbers, Keynote, or Pages document. In the sidebar, all edits, comments, and other file management changes are detailed.

Use your Mac and all of your devices in new ways:

Continuity Camera: You can now use your iPhone as a webcam while on a video call, and it works wirelessly. Desk View can also be used to share what’s on your desk in front of you while showing your face.

FaceTime: You can now switch calls between devices using FaceTime. If you start a FaceTime call on your iPhone while on the go. You can transfer it to your MacBook Pro when you get home. Alternatively, you can begin a FaceTime call at your desk and take it with you when you leave the house.
