Madan Bhandari Academy of Health Sciences (MBAHS) in Hetauda has announced a key leadership appointment.

Associate Professor Dr. Indira Adhikari Paudel has been officially appointed as the new Dean of the Academy. Formerly serving as the Head of the Nursing Department, Dr. Paudel secured the position through an internal promotion process, adhering to Section 21 of the MBAHS Act, 2076.
This appointment places a respected academic and clinical expert at the helm of the institution’s educational strategy. Dr. Paudel, a specialist in Maternal and Child Health, now actively assumes the academic and scholarly leadership as the new Madan Bhandari Health Dean.
A Distinguished Career in Health and Academia
Dr. Paudel brings two decades of deep experience in the nursing profession to her new role. For approximately 17 years, she has dedicated herself to the academic sector, shaping the future of nursing education in Nepal.
Her academic qualifications are impressive, including a PhD degree from Tribhuvan University, underscoring her commitment to high-level research and scholarship.
Her specialized expertise in Maternal and Child Health aligns perfectly with critical public health priorities in Nepal. For the last three years, Dr. Paudel served as the influential Head of the Nursing Department at the Madan Bhandari Academy of Health Sciences.
During this tenure, she played a pivotal role in curriculum development and academic leadership for both undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programs. She championed rigorous academic standards and pushed for the integration of evidence-based practice into the nursing curriculum.
Building on a Legacy of Nursing Education
Dr. Paudel’s contributions to health education extend beyond MBAHS. Before joining the institution, she actively served at other prominent medical colleges, including Manmohan Institute of Medical Sciences and Chitwan Medical College.
In these roles, she was instrumental in teaching and developing nursing education programs, leaving a positive mark on the quality of healthcare workers produced by these institutions.
Her background gives her a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing medical and nursing education across Nepal.
