MBMC IdeaX-2025: Madan Bhandari Memorial College to Host Nepal’s Premier 48-Hour Hackathon

Madan Bhandari Memorial College (MBMC) is set to ignite the tech landscape of Nepal with the third edition of its flagship event, MBMC IdeaX-2025.

This 48-hour onsite hackathon is scheduled to take place from Poush 4 to 6, 2082 (December 19–21, 2025) at the college’s campus in New Baneshwor.
As a pioneer in digital transformation, MBMC continues to provide a platform where science, technology, and entrepreneurship converge to solve real-world Nepalese challenges.
Bridging Technology and Entrepreneurship
The MBMC IdeaX series has established itself as a cornerstone for innovation in Nepal. By focusing on contemporary issues, the hackathon encourages Nepalese students to move beyond theoretical knowledge and develop functional prototypes that can lead to sustainable startups.
A Tradition of Excellence
2023 Edition: Collaborated with UNESCO Nepal to preserve indigenous languages under the theme “Language is Life.”
2024 Edition: Attracted over 100 participants from across Nepal and India, covering domains like Cybersecurity and Green Tech.
2025 Milestone: MBMC was recently recognized by the ASOCIO as the “Outstanding Digital Transformation Organization 2025,” further cementing its status as a leader in IT-driven education.

Tourism Tech: Digital solutions to enhance the travel experience and promote local heritage.
Health Services & Accessibility: Leveraging technology to bridge the gap in healthcare delivery.
Fintech: Innovating financial inclusion and digital payment ecosystems.
Agrotech: Modernizing agriculture through data-driven farming and supply chain tools.
Cultural Identity: Using ICT to protect and promote Nepalese cultural heritage.
Open Category: A flexible track for any innovative solution that addresses a significant social or technical problem.

The 2025 edition has seen unprecedented interest from the tech community:
138 Groups (423 individuals) initially registered for the event.
32 Finalist Teams (118 participants) were selected following a rigorous online presentation round.
48 Hours of non-stop coding, designing, and pitching.

The event will be formally inaugurated by Mr. Mahendra Bahadur Pandey, Chairman of the College Management Committee, and chaired by Campus Chief Dr. Baburam Adhikari.
