DN Kayastha Sainju, the operations manager of the cable car, shared that this special discount is available for ticket purchases on eight Mondays within this period. At other times, the regular ticket rates will apply.
This offer provides an affordable opportunity for the general public to visit the renowned Shakti Peeth Kamakhya Temple and Durga Mata Temple, both of which have been places of worship for hundreds of years. Additionally, visitors can offer water to Mahadev Shiva at the top station of Basantpur during the month of July.
The discounted tickets are also available for Indian tourists, making it easier for them to visit the holy sites for Rs 500. Since its launch on May 15 last year, the Lumbini Cable Car has become a significant attraction, especially for Hindus. The Kamakhya Devi Temple at the top station and the ancient Durga Mata Temple are key highlights.
Manager Prajwal Ghimire noted an increase in tourists from various cities in Uttar Pradesh coming to visit these temples. The top station is equipped with additional attractions such as a zipline, skydiving, modern swings, a children’s garden, Var Pipal Chowpari, a pond, and other religious structures.
Moreover, the cable car contributes 2% of each ticket fee to the Butwal sub-metropolitan city and Tinau rural municipality as a service fee. Hari Prasad Aryal, President of the Butwal Industry and Commerce Association, mentioned that the influx of both Indian and domestic tourists to Butwal has increased significantly since the Lumbini Cable Car began operations.
