This critical examination assesses the knowledge, skills, and competence of physicians globally. The event, which spanned three days, ran from Asoj 28 to 30 (October 14 to 16).
The continuous hosting of this prestigious test reinforces Nepal Mediciti’s role as a regional medical education hub.
Nepal Mediciti is designated as the first and sole center for the MRCP UK PACES examination within Nepal.
While the country is part of the South Asian examination circuit, this exclusive status significantly benefits local physicians. It eliminates the need for expensive and time-consuming international travel.
Elevating Medical Standards and Qualifications
The MRCP UK PACES Exam is a globally recognized qualification for doctors. Achieving this certification validates a trainee physician’s competence.
It proves they possess the appropriate knowledge, skills, and professional attitude to serve patients as highly qualified clinicians. This qualification permits successful candidates to practice in any hospital authorized by the MRCP UK.
Since 2024, Nepal Medicity has consistently operated as the official examination center for this key medical test. The center’s continued operation directly supports the professional advancement of Nepali doctors.
They no longer face the requirement to travel to the UK or other international venues to complete this essential qualification.
International Participation and Collaboration
This session attracted a diverse group of 46 candidates from across the globe. Attendees included examinees from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, the United Kingdom, Myanmar, Brunei, and the Maldives.
The presence of international candidates highlights the center’s regional importance. It confirms Nepal Mediciti’s capability to host world-class medical assessments.
The examination also brought together an experienced panel of examiners. Five examiners traveled from the UK to oversee the proceedings.
They were joined by fifteen highly respected Nepali examiners. This international and local collaboration ensures adherence to the stringent standards of the Royal Colleges of Physicians.
Distinguished Examiners from Global Institutions
The international delegation included Dr. David Black, Dr. Eleanor Grogan, Dr. Arthur Duncan, Dr. Catya Eddy, and Dr. Kathir Yogananthan.
They represented the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, and the Royal College of Physicians of London. Their presence guaranteed strict compliance with UK-based examination protocols.
The team of Nepali examiners featured many prominent specialists. Dr. Niraj Joshi, Dr. Dheeraj Manandhar, Dr. Arpana Neupane, Dr. Sanjit Krishna Shrestha, and Dr. Lucky Sharma represented Nepal Mediciti.
Other esteemed national examiners included Dr. Sudeep Shrestha (Nepal Cancer Hospital), Dr. Raksha Pandey (HAMS Hospital), Dr. Yadav KD Bhatta (Norvic Hospital), Dr. Sheetal Adhikari (Chitwan Medical College), Dr. Mahesh Raj Sigdel (IOM), Dr. Rabindra Shrestha (Om Hospital), Dr. Pravin Adhikari (Nepal Medical College), Dr. Yuvraj Sharma (Patan Hospital), and Dr. Arun Maskey (Sahid Gangalal National Heart Centre). Dr. Pragati Koirala of Nepal Mediciti has consistently coordinated the examination efforts from the beginning.
