The second edition of ‘Mrs. Purbeli Icon,’ a unique platform designed to showcase the talent and beauty of married women while promoting their empowerment, has completed its talent round.

Held at the Durga Party Palace in Itahari, the event saw 11 finalists captivate the judges and audience with their diverse performances, highlighting the core message of the competition: that beauty and talent are powerful tools for empowerment.
Showcasing Diverse Talents
The talent round was a vibrant display of the participants’ artistic skills. The stage came alive with a variety of performances, including:
Dance: Contestants Seema Lakandri, Samita Rai, Archana Sitaula, and Sita Puri performed energetic dances, while Raisha Chaudhary impressed with a traditional Tharu dance.
Poetry: The participants used their voices to convey powerful messages. Parina Rai’s heartfelt recitation of her poem titled “Mother” and Urmila Magar’s tribute to those who were martyred during the Gen-Z protest movement deeply resonated with the audience.
Singing and Other Arts: Kabina Pokhrel showcased her singing talent, while Megha Khadka’s patriotic dance and Srijana Limbu’s humorous jokes added to the entertainment. Ayosha Kunwar demonstrated her culinary skills by preparing various dishes, proving that talent comes in many forms.
The event concluded with a special performance by one of the judges, singer Ganga Gautam, who entertained the contestants and audience with her own song.
A Platform for Empowerment
The organizers of ‘Mrs. Purbeli Icon,’ Open Space Pvt. Ltd., emphasized that the competition is more than just a pageant. It is a crucial medium for women’s empowerment. According to director Saroj Shrestha, the finalists are not only being trained in ramp walks and beauty but also in knowledge enhancement, ensuring they are well-rounded individuals ready to make a positive impact.
The judging panel for the talent round included prominent figures from different fields: dance choreographer Basanta Basnet, Open Space Pvt. Ltd. CEO Sajina Shrestha, former Itahari Jaycees President Yogendra Paudel, and singer Ganga Gautam. The choreography for the event is being handled by Shubheksha Karki.
The grand finale of ‘Mrs. Purbeli Icon’ is scheduled to take place on October 11 in Itahari, where the winner will be crowned and awarded prizes worth NPR 100,000.
