This contribution, made under the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, aims to streamline the Ashram’s daily operations and emergency rescue missions.
The vehicle was formally presented by Manoj Kumar Gyawali, CEO of Nabil Bank, to Ramji Adhikari, the lead founder and Chairperson of Manavsewa Ashram, during a ceremony held at the Janakpur facility on Friday.
Strengthening Grassroots Service Delivery
The Manavsewa Ashram has been a beacon of hope for street-dependent and vulnerable individuals in Nepal since 2060 BS. However, the Janakpur branch recently faced logistical hurdles in reaching those in need.
Pawan Singhania, a patron of the Janakpur Ashram, expressed his gratitude during the event:
“Operating daily services and providing immediate assistance was becoming increasingly difficult without reliable transport. This service vehicle from Nabil Bank will be a game-changer for our staff and the people we serve.”
Nabil Bank’s Commitment to Social Impact
Speaking at the inauguration, CEO Manoj Kumar Gyawali highlighted that Nabil Bank views humanitarian support not just as a donation, but as a core responsibility toward the Nepalese people.
“The work Manavsewa Ashram does in rescuing and restoring dignity to those living on the streets is truly commendable,” Gyawali stated. “Nabil Bank is proud to partner in this noble cause. We remain committed to supporting initiatives that ensure a dignified life for every citizen.”
This is not the first time the leading commercial bank has stepped up for the Ashram; Nabil Bank has previously donated two larger rescue vehicles to support the organization’s nationwide network.
A Legacy of Rescue and Rehabilitation
Manavsewa Ashram currently operates service centers across all seven provinces of Nepal. To date, the organization has rescued and rehabilitated approximately 13,000 individuals who were previously living in extreme conditions under the open sky.
Through its Nabil SSE (Social School of Entrepreneurship) and various CSR wings, Nabil Bank continues to prioritize sustainable development, employment generation, and social welfare, solidifying its position as a leader in Nepal’s corporate and social sectors.
