Nabil Bank Partnership Nimbuzz: International Data eSIMs and Driving Permits
1st September 2025, Kathmandu
In a significant move to simplify international travel for its customers, Nabil Bank Limited has announced a new partnership with Nimbuzz, a leading super app.
Nabil Bank Partnership Nimbuzz
This collaboration introduces a first-of-its-kind service in Nepal, allowing Nabil Bank customers to access international data eSIMs and apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP) directly through the bank’s mobile application, nBank.
The memorandum of understanding was officially signed by Adarsha Bazgain, Deputy CEO of Nabil Bank, and Rishabh Timilsina, Director of Nimbuzz, at a special event. This strategic alliance is set to revolutionize how Nepalis, including students, migrant workers, and travelers, prepare for their journeys abroad.
Seamless Connectivity Abroad
One of the most immediate benefits of this partnership is the ability to purchase international data eSIMs from the nBank app. Customers can now buy reliable data plans for over 200 countries and territories, including popular destinations like China, India, the United States, Australia, the UAE, Thailand, and Japan.
This service eliminates the common hassles associated with international travel, such as finding a local SIM card, dealing with currency exchange, or filling out extensive paperwork. With a few taps on their smartphone, customers can secure their connectivity even before they depart, ensuring a smooth and stress-free arrival. Deputy CEO Adarsha Bazgain emphasized that this initiative directly addresses the connectivity challenges faced by Nepalis living or traveling abroad, allowing them to choose a data package that perfectly suits their needs.
Quick and Easy International Driving Permit
Beyond connectivity, the partnership also simplifies the process of obtaining an International Driving Permit. Through the nBank app, customers can apply for an IDP recognized in more than 190 countries, all in under ten minutes.
The application process is entirely digital. Applicants simply need to upload a valid Nepali driving license. The electronic permit is then delivered within 24 hours without any additional tests, aligning with United Nations standards. This service provides a quick and efficient way for individuals to secure the necessary documentation for driving legally in foreign countries.
A Step Towards Digital Transformation
This collaboration is a testament to Nabil Bank’s ongoing commitment to digital innovation and customer-focused solutions. As a pioneer in Nepal’s banking sector, Nabil Bank continues to leverage technology to enhance its services. With a network of 268 branches and 320 ATMs across the country, the bank is at the forefront of redefining the digital banking experience.
Nimbuzz Director Rishabh Timilsina expressed his confidence that these services would make cross-border travel significantly more straightforward and less stressful. Nimbuzz, known for its comprehensive “super app” platform that integrates various services from chat and video calls to e-commerce and digital wallets, is an ideal partner for this venture.
The Nabil Bank-Nimbuzz partnership marks a significant milestone in digital services in Nepal, providing unparalleled convenience and support to the millions of Nepalis who travel internationally for work, study, or leisure.
