Nabil Bank Honors Social Entrepreneurs: Creating 17,000 Jobs via Nabil SSE

Nabil Bank Limited recently hosted a landmark event, ‘Celebrating Fellowship: Journey of Impact, 2082,’ to mark the graduation of its 4th and 5th fellowship batches and welcome the 6th cohort under the Nabil School of Social Entrepreneurship (Nabil SSE).

Since its inception in November 2021, the Nabil SSE program has emerged as a cornerstone of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Nepal, bridging the gap between innovative ideas and sustainable business models.
Driving Economic Growth through Social Entrepreneurship
During the ceremony, Nabil Bank Chairman Upendra Prasad Poudel highlighted the program’s massive scale of impact. He noted that Nabil SSE trainees have successfully created 17,000 jobs across Nepal, proving that social entrepreneurship is a viable solution to youth unemployment.
“Nabil SSE plays a vital role in creating an environment where Nepalese youth feel empowered to build enterprises within their own country,” Poudel stated.
A Powerful Partnership: Nabil Bank and Tribhuvan University
The fellowship is conducted in technical collaboration with the Tribhuvan University (TU) School of Management.
Academic Support: Prof. Dr. Khadga KC, Rector of TU, expressed pride in the partnership, confirming that the collaboration is set to continue through 2028.
Practical Learning: Dr. Govinda Tamang, Director of the School of Management, emphasized that the curriculum transcends traditional classrooms, offering residential training and on-site mentorship.

Nabil Bank Director Nirvan Chaudhary reflected on the five-year journey, noting that what started as a bilateral initiative has now become a multi-stakeholder movement.

How the Nabil SSE Fellowship Works
The fellowship is a rigorous six-month program designed for individuals with high-impact social ideas.

Mentorship: Every fellow is paired with a mentor to navigate practical business hurdles and expand their professional networks.
