Nabil SSE, social enterprise, entrepreneurship development, Nabil Bank have again joined forces. Nabil Bank Limited and the Faculty of Management (FoM), Tribhuvan University (TU), have renewed their agreement to run the highly successful Nabil SSE (Social Enterprise) program.

The signing ceremony took place at the FoM office, where Nabil Bank’s CEO, Manoj Kumar Gyawali, and the Dean of TU FoM, Prof. Dr. Mahananda Chalise, formally endorsed the continuation of this key partnership.
Strengthening Social Enterprise in Nepal
For the past four years, Nabil Bank has championed the Nabil SSE program as a major part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The core objective of this program is to promote and empower social entrepreneurship across the country. It actively seeks to build a robust ecosystem for community-based entrepreneurs.
CEO Gyawali highlighted the crucial role this renewed collaboration plays. He stated that it significantly strengthens the partnership between the two institutions. Furthermore, he emphasized its substantial contribution to promoting social entrepreneurship. He acknowledged the program’s vital positive impact on society.
“Nabil Bank consistently supports initiatives that add value to the local economy. We aim to bring about positive change in communities. We help students and entrepreneurs expand their capabilities. We will continue to drive this program forward,” CEO Gyawali confirmed.
Transforming Education: Focus on Entrepreneurship
Prof. Dr. Mahananda Chalise, Dean of TU FoM, expressed enthusiasm for the renewal. He noted that the Faculty of Management has been actively transforming its curriculum. The goal is to make education more relevant, practical, and focused on entrepreneurship development.
He believes that industry-academia partnerships have a profound effect on research, studies, and community engagement. Nabil SSE: A Look at the Impactful Programs
The Nabil SSE program is specifically designed to cultivate and empower social entrepreneurs who work directly within communities. It operates through two key components: the Fellowship program and the Certificate Course. Both components actively contribute to social enterprise growth.
The Six-Month Fellowship Program
The Fellowship program is targeted at social entrepreneurs working on innovative ideas. This intensive program spans a period of six months. Participants receive comprehensive training during this time. They are also provided with a full year of mentorship, which is crucial for sustained success.
In addition to knowledge and guidance, participants gain access to valuable resources. This includes expanded networking opportunities and facilities for financial inclusion. The support structure is designed to help innovative ideas transition into sustainable social businesses.
Key Results: Over the last four years, the Fellowship program has successfully engaged 96 social entrepreneurs. These participants have established 62 new enterprises. Critically, the bank reports that over 14,000 individuals have directly benefited from these new ventures.
The Three-Month Certificate Course
The Certificate Course is a shorter, three-month program. It is strategically implemented across all seven provinces of Nepal. This wider reach is made possible through collaborations with various educational institutions nationwide.
The course aims to strengthen the entrepreneurial mindset of participants. Its primary objective is to empower local economies through innovation. It focuses on practical skills and knowledge necessary to start and manage a local business.
Key Results: To date, the Certificate Course has benefited 1,069 entrepreneurs. These graduates have successfully launched 131 enterprises. Collectively, these new businesses have created employment for over 2,600 individuals. The cumulative effect is a significant boost to local economic activity.
