Nagarik App and Cura Health Wins World Summit Award

Nepal’s domestic products, Nagarik App and Cura Health won the World Summit Award (WSA) 2022.

Cura Health won the WSA Award under the Health and Well-Being category, whereas Nagarik App won under Government and Citizen Engagement.

WSA National Team Expert Member informed that the hard had conveyed that the digital products and innovations made in Nepal are world-class and should lead to expanding the digital ecosystem.

Nagarik app provides all government services through a mobile app, while Cura Health is designed to digitize the health sector.

Santosh Aryal, the project manager of the Nagarik App, said that with the Nagarik App winning the WSA Award, there are more challenges and an opportunity to collaborate internationally.

The winner will be able to present at the WSA Global Congress in March. It is said that the best-performing team will get a chance to compete for the WC 2023 Global Champion.

International Center for New Media, a non-profit organization, has been organizing WSA to promote local digital innovation related to ICT. Starting in 2003, products from 182 countries have participated in the WSA. The award is focused on choosing examples of ICT that can provide a positive impact on society.

The award has been given in 9 different categories. Only Nepal has won the award in two categories from the South Asian region.
