Stealing the spotlight is the official unveiling of the highly anticipated Nami 06 electric SUV. Introduced by MAW Vriddhi, the official distributor of Dongfeng Nami for Nepal, this new SUV marks a significant expansion for the brand, which had previously established its credibility with the popular Nami 01 hatchback.
The Nammi 06 is poised to be a strong contender in the competitive electric SUV segment, thanks to its impressive features, futuristic design, and aggressive pricing strategy.
Also known as the Nami Vigo, the new electric SUV is being introduced to the Nepali market in two variants. The Nami E2 variant is priced at a special NADA Auto Show price of Rs. 37.99 lakhs, while the E2 Plus variant is available for Rs. 40.99 lakhs.
These introductory prices are strategically set to be highly competitive against other EVs in a similar class, making the Nami 06 an exceptionally attractive option for consumers looking for a stylish and sustainable vehicle. MAW Vriddhi’s move to price the vehicle so competitively reflects its confidence in the product and its ambition to capture a significant share of Nepal’s burgeoning EV market.
The Nammi 06 is built on Dongfeng’s cutting-edge Quantum Architecture 3 platform, which is engineered to maximize efficiency, performance, and safety. The vehicle’s exterior boasts a strong and modern SUV styling, while the interior features a minimalist and clutter-free cabin.
The cabin is centered around a large 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, providing easy access to vehicle controls, navigation, and entertainment. A secondary 8.8-inch instrument cluster offers all essential driving information in a clear and concise manner.
The list of premium features packed into the Nami 06 is extensive, elevating the in-car experience to a new level. Passengers can enjoy the spacious feel provided by a panoramic sunroof and set the mood with multicolor ambient lighting.
The front seats are not only heated and ventilated, providing comfort in all seasons, but also feature a massage function—a luxury feature rarely seen in this price segment. The immersive audio experience is delivered through a high-quality six-speaker sound system, making every journey more enjoyable.
In terms of performance and range, the Nami 06 offers solid specifications for its segment. It comes with two battery pack options: a 44.94 kWh unit and a larger 51.87 kWh unit. Both are paired with a 99 kW motor, providing ample power for both city and highway driving.
According to WLTP (Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure) standards, the Nami 06 boasts a respectable range of 300 km to 350 km, which is more than sufficient for the daily commutes and weekend getaways common in Nepal. The vehicle supports both AC and DC charging, with a 7 kW AC charger for home use and a 60 kW DC fast charger for quick top-ups, ensuring convenience and flexibility for owners.
The Nami 06’s launch at NADA 2025 is more than just a product introduction; it’s a statement. Following the success of the Nami 01 hatchback, which gained a strong foothold in the Nepali market, the Nami 06 is positioned to further solidify Dongfeng’s presence.
The company’s strategy of offering a feature-rich SUV at a competitive price point directly challenges established players in the market and provides a compelling alternative for consumers who value modern design, advanced technology, and sustainable mobility. As Nepal’s EV ecosystem continues to grow, with more charging stations and supportive government policies, vehicles like the Nami 06 are paving the way for a greener, more electrified future.
