Narad Luintel is the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE). The Cabinet meeting on Monday evening made the official decision.

Selection Process
The process for selecting a new NEPSE CEO started with an open application. The recommendation committee invited applications from February 24 to March 9. A total of 10 candidates submitted their applications.
After reviewing qualifications, the committee shortlisted five candidates. These included Chudamani Chapagain, Narad Kumar Luintel, Purna Prasad Acharya, Badri Prasad Pyakurel, and Hemant Basyal. The selected candidates attended a presentation and interview at the Ministry of Finance on March 19.
Each candidate presented a professional work plan. Based on the evaluation, three finalists were recommended for the CEO position. Among them, Luintel received the highest marks and was officially appointed.
Luintel’s Background and Experience
Luintel, 45, is from Hariwan, Sarlahi. He holds a Master’s degree in Commerce from Tribhuvan University. His career includes key leadership roles in Nepal’s tourism and business sectors.
From 2015 to 2019, Luintel led the Taragaon Development Committee as Chairman. Later, he was reappointed as Member Secretary under Minister Prem Ale’s administration.
Luintel also worked as the Executive Director of the Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM). However, he resigned after serving for about seven months when Sudan Kirati was the Minister of Tourism.
Besides his leadership roles, Luintel has been involved in teaching and tourism business for many years. His expertise in financial management, stock markets, and economic policies makes him a strong choice for leading NEPSE.
