The Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) has officially announced the results of the Young Scientists Research Grant Program for the fiscal year 2081/082.

Under this initiative, promising young researchers have been awarded up to NPR 1.2 million to support their research and innovation efforts.
Funding Details
NAST received numerous research proposals from aspiring scientists eager to contribute to technological advancements. After a thorough evaluation, the grants were awarded to researchers based on their proposal quality and innovation potential. The funding categories are as follows:
Individual/Group Research: Up to NPR 500,000
Institutional Research: Up to NPR 1,000,000
Multidisciplinary Research: Up to NPR 1,200,000
Selection Process
The selection process involved a rigorous evaluation by subject matter experts. Proposals were assessed based on their innovation, feasibility, and scientific contribution. The final selection criteria included:
Expert Evaluation: Average scores given by experts.
Presentation Scores: 50% weightage from committee members and 50% from subject experts.

Important Notice for Grant Recipients
Researchers who have been awarded the grant under the multidisciplinary category must submit the following documents to claim their funding:
Official Letter from the Institution
Bank Account Details (Including PAN Number)
Additionally, applicants from bachelor’s and school-level categories must submit their bank account details and PAN number for the research grant agreement. The documents must be submitted within seven working days to Room No. 205 of the NAST office, or they can contact via phone at 015253619.
Deadline for Grant Agreement
Recipients must complete the agreement process within the stipulated time frame. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the grant, and no further actions will be taken after the deadline.
