The competition will take place from 17 February to 27 February 2025, offering a stage for students to demonstrate their ICT expertise. This edition aims to encourage the next generation of tech enthusiasts to compete and learn in the field of information technology.

A New Edition to Meet Growing Demand

For years, the National Cyber Olympiad was held at the school level. However, there has been a rising demand from +2 students, prompting organizers to launch a new edition for them. Laxman Pokhrel, the founder chairperson, shared that the success of previous school-level editions (held in 2021, 2072, 2022, 2023, and 2024) sparked enthusiasm among +2 students. This motivated the organizers to introduce the +2 edition starting this year.

Competition Structure and Phases

The National Cyber Olympiad will be conducted in three phases: Qualifying, Semifinals, and Finals. All stages will follow a knockout format, ensuring a highly competitive environment. Participants will face a variety of rounds, including General, Curriculum, Logical, Multimedia, Defending, Gambling, and Gasping. These rounds aim to challenge students’ skills in multiple areas of information and communication technology.

Prizes and Recognition for Top Performers

The top-performing teams in the competition will be awarded an NPR 30,000 cash prize, along with trophies, medals, and other exciting gifts. This reward system is designed to recognize and encourage the efforts of students who excel in ICT. By providing these incentives, the organizers hope to motivate students to pursue further learning in the field.

A Learning Opportunity for Students

Apart from being a competitive event, the National Cyber Olympiad serves as a valuable learning opportunity for students. By participating, students will enhance their ICT knowledge and stay updated with the latest technological advancements. This event not only allows students to test their skills but also provides them with a chance to gain experience in a national-level competition, which can contribute to their future careers in the tech industry.

Looking Ahead: Final Stage

The competition will conclude with the final round on 27th February 2025. Organizers are optimistic that the event will succeed and inspire more students to engage with ICT in the future. By introducing this new edition for +2 students, the National Cyber Olympiad continues to play an important role in fostering tech talent across Nepal.
