Nationwide AI For Educators Campaign Launched By CAN Federation and HISSAN
19th June 2026, Kathmandu
In a landmark move set to redefine Nepal’s academic landscape, the Computer Association of Nepal (CAN Federation) and the Higher Institutions and Secondary Schools’ Association Nepal (HISSAN) have officially signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Nationwide AI For Educators Campaign
This strategic partnership embeds HISSAN as CAN Federation’s official Sustainability Partner, uniting two of the country’s leading bodies to bridge the gap between educational governance and cutting-edge local technological development.
Transforming Nepal’s Classrooms: The “AI for Educators” Initiative
At the core of this bilateral agreement is the rollout of a nationwide workshop series titled “AI for Educators.” Strategically executed across all seven provinces of Nepal, the campaign aims to shift Nepalese students from passive tech users into active innovators and creators.
The initiative recognizes that true digital transformation must begin at the front of the classroom: by empowering teachers first.
Key Details of the MoU Signing
Signatories: CAN Federation Acting President Chiranjibi Adhikari and HISSAN Central President Yuvraj Sharma.
Key Witnesses: CAN Federation General Secretary Chandra Bilas Bhurtel, Treasurer Bikram Singh, HISSAN General Secretary Ramhari Silwal, and Bagmati Province President Raj Kumar Acharya.

The campaign will deliver practical, hands-on workshops on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital transformation for school teachers and professors across all seven provinces.
2. Educational ICT Infrastructure Upgrades
CAN Federation will assist HISSAN-affiliated institutions in evaluating and strengthening their digital infrastructure. This includes deploying secure communication networks, data automation frameworks, and robust cloud ecosystems.
3. Curriculum Standardization
To prepare students for a global digital economy, the partnership will introduce vital tech disciplines into the curriculum, including:
-
Prompt Engineering
-
AI-driven educational content creation
-
Digital Safety and Cybersecurity Basics
-
Academic integrity in the age of AI
Technical Implementation and Roles
The operational blueprint leverages the nationwide network and strengths of both organizations:
“True digital transformation begins right inside the classroom. By equipping our educators with modern skills like AI, data science, and digital safety, we are laying a solid foundation to turn young Nepalese minds into the tech stars and creators of tomorrow.” Chiranjibi Adhikari, Acting President of CAN Federation
“This historic understanding with CAN Federation is more than just an agreement; it is a powerful launching pad pushing HISSAN and its member institutions into the digital era. Through this synergy, we will build a resilient digital platform and ecosystem in Nepal that enables our students and teachers to compete on a global stage.” — Yuvraj Sharma, Central President of HISSAN
The Future of EdTech in Nepal
As the global digital economy accelerates, this strategic alliance marks a critical turning point for Nepalese secondary and higher secondary education.
