1st July 2025, Kathmandu

Payment Deadline And Methods
Customers must pay the annual fee by Ashadh 32, 2082 (16th July). They can visit any Nepal Bank branch nearby to make the payment. Alternatively, they can use digital payment methods such as Mobile Banking Apps, eSewa, Khalti, or Connect IPS. These options provide convenience and speed.
If customers miss the payment deadline, Nepal Bank will freeze their Demat accounts. A frozen account cannot be used for trading or other transactions until the fee is paid. Therefore, customers are advised to act promptly to avoid disruption.
Consequences Of Non-Payment
The bank clearly states that failing to pay the annual maintenance fee will result in the account being frozen. This step protects the bank and ensures proper management of inactive accounts. Moreover, frozen accounts will not receive dividends or other benefits on time. Hence, timely payment is crucial.
Updating Account Details Is Vital
Besides paying the fee, customers should keep their Demat account details updated. Nepal Bank requests customers to verify their account information regularly. They should ensure consistency between their bank account and Demat account details. This alignment helps in smooth transactions and timely credit of dividends.
MERO SHARE Service Renewal
Customers using the MERO SHARE service must renew their subscription annually. The renewal fee for this service is NPR 50. The bank reminds users that the service must be renewed within one year of activation. Otherwise, MERO SHARE access will be automatically suspended. Nepal Bank asks customers to pay the MERO SHARE renewal fee along with the Demat account fee to continue using the service without interruption.
Convenient Payment Channels
The bank has enabled multiple payment channels for the ease of customers:
Direct payment at Nepal Bank branches
Mobile Banking Apps linked to customer accounts
Popular e-wallets like eSewa and Khalti
Connect the IPS electronic payment platform
These options help customers pay quickly and securely from anywhere.
Importance Of Timely Renewal
Timely payment of the Demat account annual fee and MERO SHARE renewal is necessary. It ensures uninterrupted access to share trading and other services. Customers can receive dividends and bonuses on time without delays. Delaying payments can cause inconvenience and possible loss of benefits.
