Nepal Chamber of Commerce & IRGDD Trade Investment Agreement Boosts Nepal’s Economic Diplomacy

The Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) and the International Relations and Global Diplomacy Dialogue (IRGDD) have signed a cooperation agreement to promote economic diplomacy and investment.

The signing ceremony took place on Tuesday at the Chamber Building in Jamal, Kathmandu. Chamber President Kamalesh Kumar Agrawal and IRGDD Chairperson and former ambassador Dr. Sharmila Parajuli Dhakal signed the agreement.
According to a press release issued by the Chamber, the agreement outlines collaboration on trade and investment diplomacy, policy research and capacity building, market promotion of Nepalese products, and private sector engagement.
The agreement also includes cooperation on investment potential and trade enhancement involving countries where Nepal has diplomatic relations, as well as Nepalese living abroad.
Joint studies and research will be conducted by the Chamber and IRGDD in areas such as trade, youth workforce mobilization, economic diplomacy, and investment promotion.
The Chamber has stated that the implementation of the agreement between the two organizations will be reviewed every six months. Kamalesh Kumar Agrawal, President of the Chamber of Commerce, said that the agreement with IRGDD was signed to strengthen economic diplomacy through continuous dialogue and cooperation between diplomatic missions abroad, embassies, and Nepal’s private sector.
