Ncell VoWi-Fi
Benefits of switching to VoWi-Fi
VoWi-Fi, also known as Wi-Fi Calling, allows users to make high-definition voice calls and send SMS even in areas where mobile signals are weak — such as basements, high-rise buildings, or remote areas — as long as there is a stable Wi-Fi connection.
The service ensures seamless coverage between Wi-Fi and mobile networks, meaning that if you move out of Wi-Fi range, the call smoothly transitions to the cellular network in 4G VoLTE. An added benefit is; Wi-Fi calling can even help extend a phone’s battery life, sincethe device doesn’t need to constantly search for cellular signals.
Device compatibility and expansion
Currently, Ncell VoWi-Fi is supported on iPhone 8 and newer models, all Honor and ZTE smartphones, six Nothing models, and over 50 Samsung models. The company is preparing to add Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo devices soon, expanding access to even more users.
According to Ncell, over 35,000 customers have already activated the VoWi-Fi service and are benefiting from this innovative service. With 4G coverage already reaching over 95% of Nepal’s population, Ncell says it remains committed to making both VoLTE and VoWi-Fi widely available across the country.
No extra cost
Using VoWi-Fi does not incur any additional charges. Customers will be billed at their regular voice and SMS rates while enjoying enhanced connectivity, especially in areas where mobile coverage is limited.
How to activate Ncell VoWi-Fi
The activation process of VoWi-Fi is simple. Customers first need to ensure their smartphone supports VoLTE and VoWi-Fi (Wi-Fi Calling). Then, they can enable the feature by going to their device’s settings — usually under Settings > Mobile Networks > SIM Card, and turning on VoWi-Fi or Wi-Fi Calling.
Once activated, users can connect to any Wi-Fi network and start making or receiving calls using their Ncell number as usual. If VoWi-Fi or Wi-Fi Calling appears in the device settings, it confirms the phone supports this feature. With a reliable Wi-Fi connection, users can stay connected seamlessly — even where the mobile signal is weak.
Ncell’s VoWi-Fi is yet another step toward ensuring that customers are always connected, whether through mobile data or Wi-Fi connectivity.
