Ncell Axiata Limited is organising a short film competition themed ‘Bhai Tika’ with the aim of celebrating special bonds through films. This competition is open to all individuals and teams interested in creating short films that captivate and inspire.

Participants are required to showcase their storytelling and filmmaking talents by crafting a captivating 3-5 minute short film that beautifully captures the heartwarming bond between a brother and sister. The film’s storyline must revolve around the theme ‘Hami Tapaikai Lagi’ (Here for You), infused with one or more elements from Ncell’s surprise campaign, recharge, or data & voice pack usage.

By ingeniously blending these elements and creating a heartfelt ‘Here for You’ moment between siblings in a video story, participants will have the chance to mesmerize audiences and the jury with their exceptional storytelling skills. The first prize winner will bag a cash prize of Rs. 100,000. Similarly, the 1st Runner-Up and 2nd Runner-Up will receive Rs. 75,000 and Rs. 50,000, respectively.

“We are extremely excited to provide platforms for emerging filmmakers. We are happy to see artistic visions that participants will bring to life by a diverse group through their unique storytelling and personal stories. Simple stories have huge merit when told from an authentic and deeply intimate place. It’s amazing how much inspiration can be found in the creative endeavours of others,” said Umair Mohsin, Chief Commercial Officer of Ncell.

The best short films showcasing strong emotional bonding will be featured on the auspicious occasion of ‘Bhai Tika’ through Ncell’s social media platforms. The jury, comprised of Asif Shah (Director/Actor/Producer), Sahana Vajracharya (Multimedia storyteller, Founding Producer of On The Record Nepal), and Abin Bho (Filmmaker), will review and evaluate the videos. The winners of the Short Film Competition will be announced on November 15.

In response to participant requests and feedback received, the video submission deadline has been extended to November 9, 2023. For applying to the Ncell Short Film Competition and more information, including detailed terms and conditions, please visit the Ncell website.
