Nepal Agriculture Livestock Insurance
This program is part of NLG’s mission to reach farmers at the community level and spread awareness about the benefits of insurance.
Reaching Farmers in Every Village
NLG Insurance has been running similar events across Nepal. These programs aim to educate farmers about the value of insurance.
Sunil Shrestha, Business Coordinator of NLG Insurance, said that the company is continuing its effort to bring farmers under the insurance umbrella. He stressed that going door-to-door and village-to-village is helping them reach more people.
Farmers face many risks, from crop failure to livestock diseases. Insurance can reduce these financial shocks. That’s why the company is focusing on direct community engagement.
Ward Chairperson Encourages Local Participation
Dipendra Kumar Wali, Ward Chairperson of Triveni-3, attended the event as the chief guest. He spoke about the importance of insurance in daily life, especially for those in agriculture.
He urged the attendees to take the lessons from the program back to their neighborhoods. According to him, agricultural and livestock insurance is a must-have for every farmer.
Mr. Wali said that being insured helps farmers recover from unexpected losses. He asked all residents to work with NLG Insurance and secure their farming future.
Program Explained by Branch Coordinator
The event was coordinated by Anurag Bohara, Branch Manager of NLG Insurance Salyan. He welcomed all the participants and shared the purpose behind the program.
Mr. Bohara explained key points such as:
What does agriculture and livestock insurance cover
How the claim process works
What benefits do insured farmers receive
How the government provides an 80% subsidy on insurance premiums
He also responded to farmers’ questions during the discussion session. His answers helped clarify common doubts and concerns about insurance policies and claims.
Reaching Every Local Body in Rukum West
Mr. Bohara shared that NLG Insurance is planning to organize more such events across all wards of Rukum West. He said that they are committed to making sure every local farmer gets access to insurance.
The company will continue this effort through its Salyan and Rukum branches. Mr. Bohara added that his team is working full-time to meet this goal. They will also bring in new and effective ways to increase local awareness.

Awareness About Government Subsidy
One of the key highlights of the program was the explanation of the government’s 80% subsidy on insurance premiums. This subsidy makes insurance highly affordable for farmers.
Mr. Bohara stressed that many farmers still do not know about this support. He said that by joining hands with NLG Insurance, they can get insured at a very low cost.
This program helped attendees understand how to apply for insurance and how claims are processed. It also gave them practical knowledge about the advantages of being insured.
Program Conducted by Rukum Branch
Hemraj Bohara, Branch Manager of NLG Insurance Rukum, handled the program’s operations. He ensured the event ran smoothly and efficiently.
He thanked everyone who participated and supported the event. He also promised to conduct more such events in the future, covering other parts of Rukum.
A Step Toward Stronger Rural Insurance
This initiative by NLG Insurance shows the company’s deep commitment to Nepal’s rural farmers. By directly engaging with farmers and local leaders, they are building trust and increasing understanding about insurance.
Agriculture is one of Nepal’s most important sectors. But it is also one of the most vulnerable. Insurance is not just a financial product—it is a safety net.
With growing climate challenges, rising costs, and unpredictable markets, farmers need support more than ever. Programs like this bring much-needed awareness and show a clear path to financial protection.
Conclusion
NLG Insurance is proving that impactful change starts at the local level. Their door-to-door and village-based awareness programs are making a difference.
The Rukum West event is just one step. But it is an important step toward building a stronger, more secure future for Nepal’s farmers.
As more people learn about the benefits of insurance, the farming community will become better prepared for any risks that come their way.
