Nepal Chamber at BISTEC Summit: Trade & Tourism Talks with Thailand

A delegation from the Nepal Chamber of Commerce has traveled to Thailand to participate in the 6th BISTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation) Summit.

The delegation is led by President Kamlesh Kumar Agarwal and includes other senior officials. These include Rajesh Kaji Shrestha, Chairman of the Advisory Council, Dipak Malhotra, Senior Vice President, and Arjun Prasad Sharma, Honorary Vice President and Chairman of the International Relations Committee. The delegation is accompanying Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on his official visit.

Focus on Bilateral Cooperation

During this visit, the Nepal Chamber of Commerce aims to engage in discussions that will lead to key agreements in various areas. These discussions will focus on bilateral trade facilitation, tourism promotion, and increased investment between Nepal and Thailand. The Nepal Chamber of Commerce is also preparing to sign a separate agreement with the Tourism Council of Thailand. This agreement will focus on trade, tourism, and civil aviation cooperation between the two nations.

Meetings with Thai Business Leaders

The Chamber’s delegation is scheduled to meet with some of Thailand’s leading business figures during their visit. These meetings will cover important topics such as improving trade and investment opportunities for Nepal. Kamlesh Kumar Agarwal, the Chamber’s president, highlighted the importance of these talks. He believes they will help enhance the trade relations between Nepal and Thailand while creating better investment opportunities in Nepal.

In addition to economic discussions, the Nepal Chamber of Commerce is working to enhance tourism collaboration between Nepal and Thailand.
