A Commitment to Resolving Key Issues
In his first address as president, Premhari Mainali highlighted his commitment to addressing the pressing issues facing distributors. He expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and promised to work tirelessly with his new team. Mainali’s immediate priorities include:
Traffic Congestion: Streamlining logistics and addressing transportation bottlenecks that impact the timely delivery of goods.
Credit-Related Challenges: Working to resolve financial and credit issues that hinder distributors’ operations and growth.
Policy-Level Issues: Advocating for policies that better support the distribution sector and recognize its critical role in the national economy.
Driving Nepal’s Economic Engine
Mainali underscored the vital function of distributors in the national economy. As the crucial link between producers (both local and international) and consumers, the distribution sector ensures that goods reach every corner of the market. Mainali emphasized that a strong distribution network is essential for a healthy and active economy.
“Imported and locally produced consumer goods reach the market through distributors, helping to keep the economy active,” Mainali stated. “It is necessary for the state to also give priority to this sector.”
With the new leadership in place, the Nepal Distributors Association is set to focus on its core mission: advocating for the welfare of its members and ensuring the smooth flow of goods across the country, all while striving for greater recognition of the sector’s economic importance.
