Nepal EV Pioneer Award: SPG Automobiles Driving Electric Vehicle Growth

SPG Automobiles Pvt. Ltd. has won the EV Pioneer Award. The recognition came during the Chery International Global Dealer Conference 2025, held in Wuhu, Anhui Province, China. This city hosts Chery’s main production and global headquarters.

Nepal EV Pioneer Award

SPG Automobiles is the official distributor of OMODA & Jaecoo, sub-brands of Chery Automobile, in Nepal. The award honors its contribution to introducing and expanding electric vehicles (EVs) in Nepal.

Presented by Chery’s Vice President

During the conference, Mr. Su Hui, Vice President of Chery Holding Group, handed over the award. He presented it to Mr. Gaurav Sharada, Director of SPG Automobiles. The event drew over 3,000 dealers from more than 120 countries.

The conference aimed to highlight global progress in the auto industry. It also served as a platform to share ideas and strategies among international dealers and partners.

Nepal’s EV Market Grows

SPG Automobiles launched the OMODA E5 EV in Nepal in 2024. It marked the official entry of the OMODA & Jaecoo brands into the Nepali market. The company then showcased the rugged and stylish Jaecoo J6 SUV at the NADA Auto Show 2024. Both models received positive responses from consumers.

Within the first year, SPG sold over 800 units of OMODA and Jaecoo EVs. This strong performance helped boost the EV market in Nepal. The company’s efforts played a key role in increasing awareness of clean and sustainable mobility.

Global Recognition for Local Impact

Chery International praised SPG Automobiles for its market expansion efforts. The company helped establish a strong presence for EVs in Nepal. The award highlights SPG’s ability to deliver advanced and eco-friendly vehicles in a developing market.

Strategic Platform and Notable Guests

The dealer conference also featured high-level guests. Officials from the Wuhu Municipal Government, Chery International CEO Yin Tongyue, and General Manager Zhang Guibing attended. Their presence reflected the importance of the event and the role of international partnerships.

SPG Automobiles views this recognition as a motivation. The company is now focused on expanding its EV portfolio and service capabilities. It aims to support Nepal’s move toward green mobility with greater energy.
