Nepal Government Self-Employment Program

This initiative aims to support economic self-sufficiency and social empowerment in the high hill and Himalayan regions.

Call for Program Proposals

On Monday, the Ministry sent official letters to all local levels in 13 designated districts, inviting them to submit proposals for projects or programs focused on self-employment and socio-economic empowerment. The designated districts include Darchula, Baitadi, Bajhang, Achham, Doti, and Bajura in Sudurpaschim Province, as well as Mugu, Dolpa, Humla, Jumla, Kalikot, Rukum West, and Jajarkot in Karnali Province. The deadline for submitting proposals is set for November 20, 2024.

According to the Ministry, this initiative is part of the government’s annual budget and program for the fiscal year 2081/82. The Self-Employment and Socio-Economic Empowerment Program Operating Guidelines 2081 have also been approved to ensure the effective implementation of these programs in the designated high hill and Himalayan regions.

Submission Requirements

Under the program guidelines, only the local governments in the designated districts may submit proposals. Each local government can propose up to two projects, adhering to the format specified in Schedule 2 of Clause 8 in the guidelines.
