18th September 2025, Katmandu

Financial Controller General Office (#FCGO), Department of Immigration (#DOI) and Nepal Clearing House Ltd. The announcement of the enablement of international card payment in RMIS was made by the Respected Finance Minister, Mr. Rameshwor Prasad Khanal, in a formal event organized today at FCGO in the presence of Chief Secretary, Finance Secretary, Financial Comptroller General, Director General of DOI and senior officials of Ministry of Finance, FCGO, DOI, TIA Immigration Office and NCHL.

With this service, international tourists can use multiple international cards for the payment at Electronic Travel Authorization (https://nepaliport.immigration.gov.np/eta-visa-processing ) and at Tribhuvan International Airport for visa on arrival.

This is expected to significantly ease the online visa application processing and improve service delivery of DoI and respective Immigration Offices.

As a part of Retail Payment Switch (RPS) under National Payment Switch (NPS), connectIPS gateway payment was enabled for various government payments including tax and non-tax revenue payments via connectIPS web/app and NEPALPAY QR.

With the addition of card payment gateway for collection of GoN revenue payment with first rollout for ETA/e-visa, it is expected to increase overall e-payments for GoN revenue collection.

It can now be further enhanced to onboard other departments and revenue collecting agencies of the GoN, who need to service international institutions or individuals.

NCHL has been working closely with FCGO and MoF to enabler digital transactions of Government of Nepal expense and revenue payments.

In the FY 2081/82, GoN, through NCHL’s system, processed a total of NRs 1,219 Billion expense related transactions and NRs 366 Billion revenue related transactions.
