The upcoming Nepal Investment Summit 2024 (April 28-29) will showcase several Information and Communication Technology (Nepal Investment Summit Showcases) projects aimed at boosting the country’s digital infrastructure. These projects include:

Data Center Project:

A major announcement is expected at the summit with the signing of an agreement between BLC Holdings (Nepal) and Yotta Data Services (India) for a joint venture data center. This project, with an estimated investment of 3.5 billion rupees, is expected to significantly enhance Nepal’s data storage capabilities.

Laptop and Mobile Assembly Plants:

The summit will also highlight opportunities for investment in laptop and mobile phone assembly plants, promoting domestic production and reducing reliance on imports.

Digital Training Center:

Plans for a dedicated digital training center will be presented, aiming to equip the Nepali workforce with the skills needed to thrive in the digital economy.

IT Park / Techno Park:

Development of an IT Park or Techno Park, focused on attracting tech companies and fostering innovation, will be on the agenda.

This focus on ICT reflects Nepal’s commitment to “Partnering for Economic Prosperity” through strategic investments in the digital sector.

The Government of Nepal is hosting the Third Nepal Investment Summit (NIS) 2024 specifically to attract investment in the IT sector.

This summit aims to bring together key decision-makers from government, business, and development organizations to discuss Nepal’s economic plans and showcase opportunities for foreign direct investment (FDI) in areas like data centers, mobile phone assembly plants, and digital skills training. By streamlining regulations and collaborating with development partners, Nepal hopes to bridge its technology gap and fuel economic growth through increased IT investment.
