Nepal Open University President Pokharel Fined

The National Information Commission (NIC) has imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on Raj Kumar Pokharel. Chairman of the Nepal Open University Recruitment Committee.

A bench of the commission comprising Chief Information Commissioner Mahendra Man Gurung, Commissioners Kamala Oli. And Ratna Prasad Mainali on Monday issued the order in accordance with Article 32 (1) of the Right to Information Act. 2064 BS.

The provision of punishment and compensation of the same article has a provision that the chief or information officer who does not provide information will be fined. From one thousand to twenty-five thousand rupees, sending a letter to the concerned body for departmental action.

The decision was taken on the basis of an appeal filed by Ram Prasad Dahal of Sindhupalcho. Said Vishwabandhu Poudel, Information Officer of the Commission. Dahal had also demanded a certified copy of the answer sheet of the examination. Given by the Open University for the post of Associate Professor of Development Management.

And Administration under the teaching side (contract) in June 2076 BS. Dahal had appealed to the commission as the head of the office after not receiving the information within the time limit prescribed by the Act.
