Citizens Bank International Limited and Nepal Clearing House (NCHL) signed an agreement on December 17, 2024 (Mangsir 2, 2081) to facilitate cross-border payments using member wallets on the Alipay+ network through Nepal Pay merchants. Ganesh Raj Pokharel, CEO of Citizens Bank, and Neelesh Man Singh Pradhan, CEO of NCHL, signed the deal.

This partnership allows payments via Alipay+ network member wallets on Nepal Pay QR and interoperable merchant QR codes in Nepal.

This initiative will enable tourists from countries such as China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Macau, Thailand, South Korea, and Italy to make payments in Nepal using their domestic wallets seamlessly.

NCHL has collaborated with Alipay+ as an international payment partner, ensuring the necessary infrastructure for smooth cross-network transactions.

The collaboration with Citizens Bank marks a significant step in offering advanced payment solutions.

Citizens Bank has been providing modern banking services to over 1.8 million customers through its widespread network of 197 branches, 162 ATMs, 3 extension counters, and 74 branchless banking units across 60 districts in Nepal.
