Nepal SBI Bank Lumbini CSR Initiative: NPR 1 Million For Sustainable Development Projects

Nepal SBI Bank Limited has handed over a financial support of NPR 1 million to the Lumbini Development Trust, Rupandehi, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. The support aims to aid various preservation and development activities operated by the Trust in the sacred Lumbini region.

According to the Trust, the donated amount will be utilized for environmental conservation, garden development, drinking water management, facilities for pilgrims and visitors, and the construction and maintenance of pedestrian pathways in and around the Lumbini area, the birthplace of Lord Buddha and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The support amount was formally handed over by Mr. Shriram Mohan Rao Amara, Managing Director (International Banking, Global Markets, and Technology) of State Bank of India, to Mr. Sanu Raja Shakya, Member Secretary of the Lumbini Development Trust, in an official ceremony.
Also present at the program were Chairperson of Nepal SBI Bank, Jayati Bansal, Chief Executive Officer, Ram Kumar Tiwari, and board directors Ritesh Sinha, Bharat Raj Wasti, Apsara Upreti, and Gopal Prasad Bhatt. Additionally, Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer, Vikas Anand, and Chief Financial Officer, Rajesh Kumar Panda, along with senior officials from the Trust, attended the event.
Nepal SBI Bank has continuously been involved in various CSR activities, especially in cultural preservation and heritage conservation at the community level. The bank believes in giving back to society through meaningful contributions aimed at promoting and protecting Nepal’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
This initiative marks another significant step by Nepal SBI Bank in supporting sustainable and inclusive development efforts within the Lumbini region, a center of global pilgrimage and peace.
