Nepal Telecom has announced a major upgrade to its service offering, with international roaming now automatically available for all prepaid mobile numbers starting from July 30.

This new feature eliminates the need for prepaid customers to manually activate international roaming, streamlining access to global connectivity.

Previously, Nepal Telecom’s prepaid customers had to specifically activate international roaming to use their mobile services abroad. With this update, the international roaming service will be automatically enabled, allowing customers to stay connected without additional steps.

To verify the availability of roaming services, customers can dial 14157# and select the appropriate menu option. This service will enable users to utilize voice, data, and SMS services internationally using their Nepal Telecom SIM card. Initially, the automatic roaming facility will be available in multiple countries, excluding India. For roaming services in India, customers can either use the USSD code 14157# or activate the service through the Nepal Telecom app before travelling.

If customers travel abroad without pre-activating the roaming service, they can request activation by emailing roaming.support@ntc.net.np.

Nepal Telecom has established agreements with 54 operators across 40 countries, ensuring comprehensive roaming services. This enhancement is part of Nepal Telecom’s ongoing efforts to provide reliable and convenient communication options for Nepali expatriates and travellers. The company anticipates that automatic roaming will significantly improve user experience and ease of access for its prepaid customers.
