Nepal Tourism Board Partnership
On the 16th of Mangsir 2082 B.S. (Nepali Calendar), a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) and the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).
This pivotal agreement focuses on cooperative efforts in tourism promotion and air service development. The successful implementation of this Nepal Tourism Board Partnership is expected to give a substantial boost to the nation’s visibility on the global stage.
Details of the Signing Ceremony
The signing ceremony was held at the central office of Nepal Airlines in New Road, Kathmandu. High-ranking officials from both institutions were present to witness this historic occasion.
Representing NAC: Executive Director Amritman Shrestha signed the agreement on behalf of the Nepal Airlines Corporation.
Representing NTB: Chief Executive Officer Dr. Deepak Raj Joshi put his signature on the document for the Nepal Tourism Board.
During the special ceremony, both parties emphasized the critical role of tourism and air travel as foundational pillars of national development.
They collectively expressed a strong commitment to advancing this partnership in a long-term and sustainable manner. The commitment from both national entities underscores the potential for sustained growth in both industries.
Key Provisions of the MoU
The core objective of this agreement is to strengthen the connection between the national flag carrier and the primary tourism promotional body.
The MoU establishes a framework for Nepal Airlines and the Nepal Tourism Board to conduct joint activities aimed at making their mutual partnership more effective. These collaborations will focus on enhancing the overall experience for travelers visiting Nepal.
The agreement mandates NTB to actively promote the international flights of Nepal Airlines. Additionally, NTB will provide essential support, including subsidized tickets or participation allowances, for NAC officials and employees involved in tourism promotion tasks or attending related events both domestically and internationally. This directly facilitates the national carrier’s outreach programs.
Nepal Airlines is set to provide venue-related support for promotional events and programs conducted by the Nepal Tourism Board in both Nepal and international destinations. This reciprocal support ensures optimal utilization of resources for both parties, leveraging NAC’s network to the advantage of NTB’s campaigns.
Expected Impact on Nepal’s Economy
This strategic collaboration is anticipated to inject new energy into Nepal’s tourism sector. The unified approach aims to bolster Nepal’s image as a reliable and premier international destination.
The joint efforts will focus on:
-
Market Diversification: Exploring and expanding into new source markets across the globe.
-
Branding and Promotion: Strengthening the national brand identity internationally.
-
Service Enhancement: Improving the quality of air services and overall travel experience.
By combining their respective strengths and capabilities, particularly in market expansion, branding, and promotional activities, both NAC and NTB are poised to make a significant contribution to building a Nepal-friendly international air service hub. The long-term vision is a stronger, more resilient tourism industry driven by an efficient national air carrier.
