Nepal’s API Power Builds Own HQ; Showcases 62.5 MW Hydro & Solar Portfolio Expansion

API Power Company Limited (API), a pioneer in Nepal’s renewable energy sector for the past 22 years, has announced a major strategic investment: the construction of its own corporate office building in Kathmandu.

This move, decided at the company’s 21st Annual General Meeting, marks a significant step in securing the company’s assets and reinforcing investor confidence.
The foundation stone for the central office, named ‘API Tower,’ was laid today, November 6, 2025, by the Chairperson, Ms. Sirjana Khadka, in the presence of all board members. The company aims to complete the construction of the building, located on 20 Aana of land in the heart of Naya Baneshwor, within two years.
A Milestone for a Leading Energy Developer
According to Executive Director Mr. Sanjeev Neupane, this investment is a symbol of the company’s stability and commitment.
“This building will house API Power Company and its subsidiary companies. This structure is a shared asset of the shareholders of API Power and its subsidiaries, and there is no doubt that such investments will further strengthen the trust of shareholders in the company,” said Mr. Neupane.
API Power is one of the few private energy producers in Nepal to construct its own dedicated corporate headquarters, reflecting its two decades of operational excellence, transparent financial performance, and dedication to safeguarding investor interests.

A notable achievement was the completion and operation of the 8.5 MW Naugarh Gad Hydropower Project in Darchula in just 17 months, setting a benchmark for efficiency in the Far Western region of Nepal.
Ongoing and Pipeline Projects
API Power is continuously expanding its portfolio through direct construction and strategic investments:
Under Construction (Direct): 8 MW Parwanipur Solar Project (Bara District).
Under Construction (Subsidiary): 28.304 MW Middle Chameliya Hydropower Project (Darchula) through majority share acquisition of Darchula Power Limited. This project is expected to be completed and operational within the next 20 months.
Strategic Investments: A 25% stake in the 9.7 MW Upper Ingwa Khola Hydropower Project (Panchthar), which is currently operational.
Acquired Subsidiary: Full ownership (59.67% stake) of Suryakunda Hydro Electric Limited, which operates the 11 MW Upper Tadi Khola Hydropower Project (Nuwakot).
Survey/Development Phase: The company is surveying the 30 MW Trishuli Galchhi Hydropower Project (Nuwakot) and the 9.7 MW Nwagad Hydropower Project (Darchula).
Beyond energy, the company has diversified into real estate through its fully-owned subsidiary, API Infra Limited, which is currently constructing residential buildings in Jhamshikhel, Lalitpur.
