Nepal’s First Hybrid Motorcycle Hi-Tech
The grand launch event is set to take place on March 20, 2026, at a venue rising approximately 256 feet, adding an element of exclusivity to the occasion. For more than a decade, the Yamaha FZ has remained one of the most admired motorcycles in Nepal, known for its muscular design, refined performance, and dependable mileage.
Built on Yamaha’s globally trusted engineering and strong Japanese DNA, the FZ series has consistently delivered a balanced combination of power, comfort, and efficiency, making it a preferred choice for riders across the country.
With this upcoming hybrid model, Yamaha signals that the future begins today, bringing hi-tech advanced technology into everyday motorcycling.
As Nepal’s roads and riding conditions continue to evolve, the demand for smarter and more efficient mobility solutions has become increasingly important.
From steep uphill terrains and winding highways to dense urban traffic, Nepali riders require motorcycles that deliver responsive performance while maintaining strong fuel efficiency.
Hybrid technology directly addresses these needs by combining the strength of a traditional fuel-powered engine with intelligent electric assistance, enabling smoother acceleration, improved mileage, and reduced emissions, making it an ideal solution for Nepal’s diverse terrain and daily commuting challenges.
The upcoming hybrid motorcycle builds upon Yamaha’s proven 149cc air-cooled, fuel-injected engine, now enhanced with smart hybrid assistance.
Unlike conventional motorcycles that rely solely on fuel combustion, the hybrid system provides battery-assisted support during key moments such as starting and acceleration.
This intelligent energy management not only improves power delivery but also optimizes fuel usage and enhances overall riding smoothness, creating a clear distinction from standard motorcycles and establishing a new benchmark in the segment.
In addition to the hybrid advantage, the motorcycle continues Yamaha’s tradition of combining performance with modern engineering.
It features a lightweight 135 kg body, contributing to improved agility and handling. The bike is equipped with Monocross suspension for enhanced shock absorption and ride comfort, while its refined power delivery ensures a more responsive and controlled riding experience in both city traffic and highway conditions.
The design reflects Yamaha’s bold street-lord styling with a focus on both form and function. An inbuilt sidelight integrated into the body, along with an LED headlight featuring separate high and low beam units, ensures clear visibility in all conditions.
The two-level seat design enhances comfort for both rider and pillion, while the midship muffler delivers a refined exhaust note. Additionally, the engine under the cowl protects while reinforcing the motorcycle’s sporty character.
Safety and convenience remain key priorities. The motorcycle is equipped with a front disc brake with single-channel Bosch ABS, a 220 mm rear disc brake for confident stopping power, and a 140 mm wide radial rear tyre for enhanced grip and stability. An in-built side stand engine cut-off switch further enhances rider safety.
Modern features further elevate the riding experience. The motorcycle includes a negative LCD instrument cluster displaying essential riding information, while E20 fuel compatibility aligns with evolving environmental standards. Together, these features reinforce Yamaha’s commitment to delivering hi-tech advanced technology that enhances both performance and practicality.
Yamaha’s strong nationwide presence further ensures customer confidence and support. With 100 dealerships across Nepal, including 95 fully equipped service points and 117 active authorized service providers (ASPs), Yamaha continues to provide reliable after-sales service and easy access to genuine spare parts, ensuring a seamless ownership experience across the country.
With the introduction of hybrid technology in the motorcycle segment, Yamaha is not only launching a new product but also creating a new category in Nepal’s two-wheeler market, setting a new benchmark for performance, efficiency, and sustainable mobility.
The future of motorcycling in Nepal begins today.
